Building the battlefield…

WELCOME TO GLOBAL TANK WAR

High stakes.
Higher trajectories.

A realtime, two-player artillery duel. Reduce the other tank’s armour to zero to win.

  1. Choose your direction. North is 0°, east is 90°. “Face opponent” gets you lined up.
  2. Aim, then charge. Tanks start with 30° elevation and the turret aligned with the hull. Higher angles clear rooftops. Hold Space or the fire button to build power from 1% to 100% in two seconds, then release to fire. Wind pushes east.
  3. Fire, watch, adjust. Shells remove building voxels and dig craters. Unsupported sections break into physical rubble.
  4. Drive and aim independently. W/S drive; hold Shift for 30% extra speed. A/D turns the hull. Arrow keys change turret direction and elevation. Your world aim stays fixed when the tank turns. Click the battlefield after editing a number to resume keyboard controls.
  5. Break through. Ram a wall to break a small section. Unsupported parts can collapse. Drive through the rubble at 35% speed. Movement has no turn limit.
  6. Stuck or overturned? Press R or use Unstick tank to move 20 m in a random safe direction. It avoids buildings, water, steep ground and other tanks. Recovery takes five seconds and costs 10 health only on success. Aim and reload time stay unchanged. If no safe landing exists, the tank stays in place without paying health.
  7. Watch your armour. Any shell exploding within 20 m damages nearby tanks, including the shooter. Damage decreases with distance. The bottom-centre panel groups your health, shot power and reload progress; floating numbers show health lost. The front hull takes 30% less shell damage; side and rear direct hits destroy a full-health tank.
  8. Reload and repeat. Each shot starts a 1.5-second reload. Your fired power becomes a grey ghost in the power meter and fades over ten seconds. The dashed launch guide shows the first second of flight. Coloured shell lines trace the shell until impact. Full power waits for release; holding never fires automatically. Press Esc to cancel. Losing focus also cancels a charge. Both tanks can keep driving and aiming while charging or reloading.
  9. Choose your camera. Close, Medium and Far select a low follow view. Q toggles smooth continuous follow behind the turret or hull. Use 1 Close, 2 Medium, 3 Far, 4 Helicopter, 5 Duel view, 6 Overview or 7 Map centre. Left-click the Overview battlefield to centre your tank without following. Helicopter is a high chase camera behind your tank, looking towards the enemy. Before a round, click the minimap to open a larger map: drag and zoom to explore, then click to load a new area. During battle, minimap clicks move the camera. Hold middle mouse to detach the camera. Move the mouse to look, use W/S to fly along your look direction, A/D to strafe, and Shift for double speed. Release keeps the camera where it is; select Close/Medium/Far to return. Scroll to zoom. Camera choices stay local to each window.
  10. Choose your seats. Use Host as Amber, then Open Cobalt window. Share the invite link to play on another computer or browser. Keep Amber open. With no opponent connected, an AI takes over after 30 seconds of active play. A joining human immediately takes its seat. Before AI starts, X switches the tank you control in practice.

Plant before battle. In the pre-round preview, right-click dry ground to choose a tree, or point at the ground and press T for a random one. Space starts the round. New round returns to preview. Tree planting and removal autosave in this browser and return when you revisit the area. Guest edits remain temporary.

Building finishes. Before battle, right-click a building to choose brick, stone, concrete or coloured render. Original finish resets the choice. Both players see the edits. Host and practice edits autosave in this browser; an owner editor connection also saves to the shared world. Guest edits remain temporary. Massive solid-core towers use a concrete frame pattern with floor beams about 3.6 m apart and pillars about 10 m apart.

Touch controls. Drag Drive or Aim from wherever your finger lands on the stick; the thumb marker can travel outside its ring. Double-tap and hold Drive to boost; lifting your finger stops it. Hold Fire above Aim to charge, release to shoot. Reset above Drive uses the usual five-second delay and 10-health recovery. Tap MINES or its dots to drop a mine. Camera buttons 1–7 select a view, and the dropdown remains available. Tap the compass to switch hull/turret tracking.

Supplies and mines. Drive over a green health pack to restore 10 health (up to 100). Each duel has two packs. Press E or tap MINES or its dots to drop one behind your hull: five per player, 15 damage to either tank on contact. Mines are invisible in the battlefield; only your own appear as diamonds on your radar.

Radar and health warnings. A soft low bong sounds when the radar sweep detects the enemy, louder and higher pitched when they are closer. Hover over the radar and click its sound button to cycle On, Low and Off; touch controls always show the sound button. At 30 health or below, a heartbeat gets louder and faster as health falls. At 10 health or below, a red surround pulses gently.
